We are half way through the year. We are also in the middle of summer and it is a perfect time to add new music in your life. The warm weather definitely makes you wat to have more fun and

So much has happened in the first half of the year and we still have the rest of the year left… Regardess, I think that music is a great way to help cope with not only the issues that are going on in the world but your personal life.

In this post I will recommend my favorite EP’s, Album’s, and some of my favorite playlists. I think that I will have something for everyone.

EP RECOMMENDATIONS

SUMMER SPECIAL [Flip That]- EP BY LOONA

Coming straight off the survival show Queendom 2, K-pop girl group LOONA had a comeback in the beginning of summer. This comeback was like a glass of lemonade on a hot day. The songs on the album are very refreshing and just give you a summer vibe. The title track is very catchy and the instrumentals of the song are good as well. 10/10 recommend checking out this EP. With 5 tracks this would be easy to listen through while doing some quick errands.

Favorite tracks are Pale Blue Dot and Playback.

NewJeans 1st EP ‘NEW JEANS’ BY NEWJEANS

A new girl group to the K-pop scene that came in with a bang. I really like the sound of their music. It has an early 2000’s sound with a modern twist. It is much more of an R&B-pop sound which i love. Really reminds me of music by Destiny’s Child. Their debut single ‘Attention’ is a great song and so are the other songs on this EP. This EP is only 4 tracks long so you can definitely listen through it while doing something quick and become a fan.

FEARLESS-EP by LE SERRAFIM

A group that also debut earlier this year. Riddled with scandals since before debut, this group has been through a lot in the last couple of months. Nevertheless, they did release a great debut album with great sings and a great concept. LE SERRAFIM is “I’m Fearless” but mixed up. Their title track ‘FEARLESS’ is a song that quickly gets stuck in your head because of the chorus, which is very catchy. This EP is 5 songs long and I highly suggest a listen through.

Favorite tracks ‘FEARLESS’ and ‘Sour Grapes’.

ALBUM RECOMENDATIONS

THE BEST ALBUM ‘Needle & Bubble’ by NU’EST

Adding this album to the recommendation list is biter sweet as this was NU’EST final album before they disbanded. It is a compilation album and has previous track they have released on various EP/‘s over the years remastered and remixed; as well as two new tracks. The ten track album is a bitter sweet gift for the fans. Definitely recommend checking this album out as it will give you a taste of NU’EST over the years.

My favorite tracks from this album are Look (A starlight night) [Alternative House Version] and Again. I liked Look because i have heard the original version which was on their ‘Canvas- EP’ released back in 2016 and the newer version sounds more refreshing and updated to fit the sound of the current state of music. I really loved Agai as it was NU’EST last title track and was accompanied by a Music video which referenced a lot of their older ones which as a fan I really loved and appreciated. It is more of a song for fans if I’m being honest as the song has a ‘we will meet again one day’ vibe.

UN VERANO SIN TI BY BAD BUNNY

This album screams SUMMER FUN FOREVER. It has a mix of fast paced song and slow paced songs, but no matter the pacing you will be vibing to El Conejo Malo. This is a great album to listening to while on a car ride with your best friends going nowhere in particular and wanting to have fun or a beach day. It is also a great album with a great mix of songs, with a total of 23 tracks you can definitely expect to find one song that you may really like.

My favorite Tracks off the album would have to Aguacero, Tarot, Titi Me Pregunto. I like Aguacero because it is a slower song and I just have a tendency to be drawn to a more calmer slow songs. Also he has a lyric about being a Pisces and as a Pisces I really connected and made it my unofficial personal song. I love tarot because it as song he collaborated with Jay Cortez; they have collaborated before and it is always a great track. And Titi Me Pregunto…like just listen to it and tell me you don’t wanna just have a great album.

RENAISSANCE BY BEYONCÉ

I MEAN DO I REALLY HAVEE TO GET INTO WHY I RECOMMEND THIS ALBUM? It’s a dance album with various gernes of dance music, from house music to Afro beat and everything in between and after; it is genuinely a great body of music. VERY ADDICTING. I find myself listening through the whole album and only noticing because the music stopped and it went back to track 1.

My favorite tracks would have to be Summer Renaissance and Plastic Off the Sofa. I love Plastic off the Sofa not only because it is the most calm and chill song from the album, but also because listening to it you feel an instant calm. I also love the placement of the song being at the halfway point of the album was a great transition from the beginning half of the album to the end half and a good way to help you simmer down a bit before you keep going off. And Summer Renaissance… DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED. The Donna Summer Sample, the disco influence, the telfar shout out. LIKE THATS HOW YOU END AN ALBUM!

WASTELAND BY BRENT FAIYAZ

This album recommendation is for the chronically chill. This album is great to listen to anytime your having a nice day. The music is more slow paced and is more calm. While the last two were definitely more for listening on a night out, this album is great for a nice calm night staying in. A great R&B album it really hits. It could be a great album to listen to with your significant other but it can also just be listened by yourself while chilling. I really love the instrumentals in this. Just sounds so good and calming. Add on Brent’s voice and woah!

My favorite tracks are Ghetto Gatsby and FYTB. I loved Ghetto Gatsby because of the instrumental. I love classical music so hearing the sounds of the harps with the strings following. I MELTED. Add on the Alicia Key feature it all ties everything together like a present. FYTB was a favorite track of mine because again i really liked the instrumentals. He also features Joony on this track and I liked the verse he delivered on the song. If he released the instrumental versions of these songs I would love this album even more.

in this part of the post I will post music my besties recommended. I texted them and asked them to send some music recommendations as I am making a blog post about new music. Since my friends all have various music tastes I think this would be great because I’d be giving the reader even more variety. While some music may have been released before 2022, it may be new to you !
