Must Haves for Autumn/Winter 2021

Chilly weather has gotten here and it’s only going to get colder. With the weather change comes a wardrobe change. This post will highlight accessories and other things that were seen across various designer runways which I believe everyone should have or try to replicate. You can always take a designer look and definitely find similar pieces on a budget.

Utilitarian Bags

Bags from Raf Simons, Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, & Heron Preston

The days of micro-bags may be coming to an end. As designers have taken a utilitarian take on bags and have made them useful again and not just a small accessory to carry around.

Bags from Louis Vuitton, Gucci & Bally

Before when you couldn’t fit barely anything in the trendy micro bags, you can fit mostly anything in the new design styles. Bags like shoppers, totes, briefcases, etc will sure have you on trend this season.

Winter bags

Bags from Off-White, Jacquemus, Boss & Coach

While this is an actual term but something I came up with. A winter bag is a bag that gives the essence of winter. That being warm, fuzzy, cool. These bags scream “Autumn/ Winter is here and I’m ready.”

Bags from Telfar, Moncler 2 1952, & Thom Browne

From shearling bags to puffer bags these bags are sure to be winter ready. Various fashion houses have their own take on this from Mui Mui to Telfar there is surely a winter bag for everyone’s taste. While these bags aren’t like the bags before and are more extravagant

Head Gear

Headwear from Dunhill, Givenchy, Berluti and Boss

Various types of head wear was spotted throughout the fashion shows for AW 2021z From bucket hats to balaclavas. There is surely one you will like. No to mention this helps for the winter. I always think hats are a great accessory for days when you are feeling more laid back. On the contrary, a hat can also help you make a statement and make you stand out; if that’s what you want to do. Either way some type of head gear is a must for Autumn and Winter.

Headwear from Off-White, Fumito Ganryu, Gucci, & Burberry

Quilted Jackets

Jackets from Vaquera, Mui Mui, and Martin Rose

This was something I saw throughout the runways that I liked. Something about a quilted jacket seems so classic and timeless I think anyone could wear one and pull it off. It gives a very cozy feeling and imagine people with a coffee or hot chocolate.

Boots

Boots from Balenciaga, Mui Mui and Dior Men

Personally, I think boots for winter are an essential. Especially if you live in an area where it snows a lot. While the boots from Balenciaga and Mui Mui pictured above are more of a high fashion take on a winter boot, the essence can be taken and be used for a more everyday look. Like having a pair of shearling boot but in a shorter length, same with the leather boots. Or being a bit more practical with the boots that are like the Dior ones that look rubber and don’t need to have much protection. (If you live where it snows, the salt they throw on the floor to help unfreeze the ground, also damages your shoes by staining them.)

Hopefully after reading this you have maybe found at least one thing that you want to get or try out for this chilly season. Obviously designer fashion isn’t at everyone’s prices point, but like I stated before you can always find a cheaper alternative if you take actually look for it. By that I mean thrifting or going to various stores to find the lowest price possible.

For a quilted jacket I’d try a thrift store because I feel like you can always find some there and for a steal. For bags, I’d say also try to find a bag at the thrift because you can find cute, nice bags you just have to look for them. Hats, I’d say try maybe Zara or H&M they always have great furry hats for an ok price. At a thrift shop maybe, but I don’t usually find any nice hats there. Anyways, Which thing are you thinking about adding to your closet and wardrobe for the season ? Let me know in the comments ! 🙂
