Today is a wonderful day, it’s Mariah Carey’s anniversary! Anniversary? Yes! Mariah doesn’t believe in aging, LOL, so instead of celebrating birthdays; she celebrates a yearly anniversary. Saying so, means that she is an Aries, born on March 27. In honor of this, I will be posting 10 of my favorite looks Mariah has worn. She has a career spanning four decades, fashion trends come and go; let’s see how Mariah handled this.
10. Grammy Dress (1991)
Just a year after her debut, Mariah attends the Grammys in a little black dress that has diamond spaghetti straps and diamond encrusting all over the Top lining of the dress and back. Simple, yet stunning look.
9. Out and About (1994)
This look has the sing bird supreme in a matching leather pants and jacket looked. Paired with a cropped white t-shirt that is under a black knit crop top as well. She wore this to the Calvin Klein show.
8. Pretty in Pink (1994)
I mean can this image get more 90’s. A young Mariah Carey wearing a matching pink tweed Chanel suit. Iconic.
7. Street Style (1994)
Mariah steps out of a boutique wearing a very simple cute look. A pair of high waisted shorts, a cropped t-shirt, and some lace-able heels, giving it that sporty yet sexy look.
6. Sexy and Simple (1997)
Mariah steps onto the red carpet, in this simple yet cute look. She wears a Dolce and Gabbana tank top, with a black skirt, black cardigan around her waste and a pair of black heels.
5. Golden Vision(1998)
Mariah stuns the award show goers as she steps onto the premise wearing a barely there gold minidress that is beaded all over.
4. Heartbreaker (1999)
For her first single, off her 6th studio album Mariah releases the single Heartbreaker. When she releases it, she is shown wearing the outfit from above. A pair of high wasted light wash jeans with the top cut off and a pink crotchet top. Mariah, humbly takes credit for the low rise jean trend saying “after the video premiered I started seeing many girls with jeans similar to mine.”
3. Shining (2000)
Mariah stuns the crowds while wearing this glittery dress that is backless with straps across it.
2. Elegantly Simple (2019)
By now, if you haven’t been able to tell; while Mariah does have her over the top fashion moments, she’s a simple girl. She mostly wears a lot of neutral colors, when she does wear colors they pop, but she tends to stick to mostly black. Here she accepts her Billboard Icon award wearing a black gown that has reflective pieces in the fabric, very simple, yet elegant. I mean, simple to an extant cause I’m pretty sure that dress is expensive lolz.
1. THE Revenge Dress (1997)
If you’re a fellow Lamb (Mariah Carey Fans are called Lambs), you KNOW about this dress, because the fans are always bringing it up online. She wore this dress, after breaking up and divorcing her then husband Tommy Mottola. She wore this two piece, a strapped bandeau top with a floor length skirt that had a very high slit on both sides of it. Can you say legendaric?
