With the recent Coronavirus pandemic many everyday things have started to come to a halt. Schools for everyone; from elementary school to college courses have been canceled for the rest of the month. Grocery store are literally chaotic. As well as some job requiring their employees either to work from home or just stay home and stay well. With smart people social distancing themselves to prevent from spreading or contracting the virus, here are some things that you can do while being stuck at home.
New Series

During a time of isolation starting a new series can help you. Not only can it help you not be bored, it may even lift your mood if you’re feel down because of everything that is going on in the world. At this point in today’s world, everyone or at least someone you know is bound to have a Netflix account. Here are my topics for new shows to start watching.
I always suggest to people to watch either Gossip Girl or Charmed because those two shows are my favorites! They’re full of drama, light hearted-ness, fun and love. These two shows can help brighten up your day. While the other two shows can sometimes get your blood boiling. Those shows being How to Get Away with Murder and Scandal. From learning how to cover up a murder to helping people avoid jail time, these shows will keep you on the edge and wanting to watch more. It also helps because these shows have many seasons. Gossip girl has 6 seasons, Charmed 8 seasons, How To Get Away with Murder 5 seasons and Scandal 7 seasons.
New Tunes

This is also a great time to discover new music to listen to. Try looking at the similar artist that pop out under the artist your listening to. Or from a playlist if you find a song you like check out the artists other work and see if you like it as well. Also you can start a radio station from one song you’re listening to and it’ll play songs that are similar to it. This is a great way of finding new music because you start off with something you already like and it gives you music and with most streaming services having likes and dislikes buttons to help cater to you, this is pretty fun.
Another alternative to new tunes is making playlists! I find so much joy in this for some odd reasons. Maybe it’s the fact that I get to choose all the songs that go on them or that I get to choose what type of style or vibe the playlist gives off. Overall it’s fun and you should try it out. Here are some of my favorite playlists (I have Apple Music, but I do sometimes upload the playlist to Spotify as well);
- March 2020 Playlist
- House Music Playlist
- House Music Playlist (Spotify)
- Relax Playlist

New Book

If you eve wanted to take some time off and just disconnect from the world this is the time. Just get yourself a good book and a cup of tea and your set. I usually suggest people to go to a library find the section of the genre they like, and then just pick a book. Since you can’t do that because most public buildings are either closed or are starting to be closed as the days go by try e-books. But I highly suggest getting an actual book to read. I, personally, cannot read a book on my phone. The screen is too narrow so it obviously squished the words together and smaller. Also, too many distractions; one twitter notification here, another Instagram DM there, the book you are reading won’t ever have your full attention. So if you can, get a book before everything closes, if not give e-books a go! Maybe it’ll work out for you. 🙂
New Hobby
With all the free time you’re going to have at home, it may be a great time to start a new hobby. Some easy things that won’t get you feeling overwhelmed and are great hobbies are blogging, doing yoga, and meditating. These are things that you can not only do when quarantined, but whenever and should be used on a daily bases to help yourself. They can literally help you de-stress; blog about your day and type out your frustrations don’t hold it in, calm yourself down with either a quick yoga sesh or if you’re feeling a little spicy go the extra mile and extend that yoga sesh for a good 30-45 minutes, and then wind down with some meditation.

Hopefully, these suggestions have or will help you with all the cancelations that is going on. Remember wash your hands, don’t touch your face and if you think you’re sick PLEASE GO TO THE DOCTOR AND DON’T GO OUT UNLESS NECESSARY !! 🙂
