As the year and the decade comes to a close, it is a great time to analyze the fashion that has come and gone with the times. As fast as something comes in style, it goes out of style. Here are some trends from this last decade that had everyone wanting them.
.1) Sheer Clothing

The 2010’s were years of bold fashion choices. What’s better than wearing nothing? Clothing that give an illusion of not being there. From woman to men this trend didn’t conform to any gender. From full length sheer gowns to just a sheer long sleeve shirt. Anything could be made sheer and it would instantly become more sexier and edgier.
.2 Small Hand Bags
A trend that I LOVED and thought was so cute was the small bag or micro-purse trend. Although, unpractical for a daily use. It is a very stylish and cute accessory for any look. This is the type of purse you only need the essentials. Get your ID, credit card, and chapstick/lipstick; and you are set for the night.
.3 Small Sunglasses
Staying in the small world. Another trend that happened because of there size was the small sunglasses trend. This was another trend I thought was cute because of the size. Although I could never pull it off because I have a big head, I appreciate this.
.4 Athleisure

This trend was a great way to be comfy, while being trendy. This was a step forward into seeing that yes, in the right way sweats CAN be cute. I, for one, did participate in this trend.
.5 Dad Sneakers

With the athleisure trend another trend that was worn with it was the dad sneaker. The dad sneaker is a sneaker that tends to be chunkier and have bigger soles. It’s called a dad sneaker because this is a type of shoe that is mostly worn by older men who tend to be dads. I didn’t mind it because the shoes seem comfy.
.6 Fanny Packs

This trend was either you liked it or you didn’t it. I personally liked it. Again, it’s a small bag where you can just put the essentials you need. This is a twist on the micro-purse trend. While it wasn’t technically a purse it was a bag, but this was a more everyday bag. Also more men decided to participate in this trend rather in the micro-purse trend.
.7 Colorful Hair

It not only added a touch of style it added individuality. It really said something when you have the courage to dye your hair a bright bold color because you do turn a lot of heads and bring a lot of attention towards yourself.
.8 Luxurious Streetwear

A trend that is happening and will probably continue to happen is the glamorization of streetwear. From the most recent Jordan x Dior collaboration to the iconic Supreme x Louis Vuitton collaboration. Luxury fashion houses are taking it to the streets for the next hottest styles. From redesigned jean jackets that are turned into dresses to designer sneakers. The streets are where the fashion influences are now.
All in all, this decade had a eclectic take to the style. Pulling from various previous decades and style inspirations. Hopefully the coming 2020’s only have better styles.
