Winter Essentials

If you live in the Western Hemisphere, in the Northern Region, the weather has gotten chilly and will only get colder. During these times it is important to have the right things to wear in your wardrobe. You don’t have to sacrifice warmth for fashion and vice versa. You can look stylish, while being warm. I’m from Chicago. The winters here are no joke. We once had weather colder than Antarctica. With the following, I will tell you my winter essentials that help me survive.

A Fur Coat

A winter must! You will never feel the cold. You can literally wear anything under this coat and you will still look stylish because of the coat. The coat is the focal point of your outfit, anything else you wear is just an accessory.

A Puffer Coat

This is an alternative to the fur coat. While having less fur and more volume, it still keeps you warm regardless. Now this is a coat where the jacket is more of an accessory, rather than a focal point.

A Knit Sweater

Obvi you need a knit sweater for the cold weather; Talk about cozy. A knit sweater doesn’t have to be old and frumpy. It can be revamped and styled into a new life with the right bottoms and accessories. Be comfy and cozy, while still looking cute.

A Hat

Whether you want something classic like a plain beanie or want to go over the top with furry bucket hat; a hat is another winter essential. You need something to try and keep your head warm and a hat is something I like to use to do this.

Also…

there may be other items that people would consider winter essentials like gloves and scarfs. But for me, that’s a big no. You can’t use your phone when you have gloves or do a lot of other things. Also when I wear scarves I feel like I’m suffocating and it makes me feel weird and all hot around my mouth and nose area. It’s gross. That’s why I don’t personally consider them essentials for winter because I don’t use them.

With this concludes my little winter garment suggestions. Hoping this was helpful to some and a style check for others.
