Trends that I will and will not follow this coming Spring and Summer

In a previous blog post back from December titled Fashion Trends for Spring/Summer 2019 for Men and Woman, I wrote about trends I saw throughout 9 different fashion designers. In this post I will go into more detail and talk about trends that I will and will not follow.

Trends I will follow:

  1. Oversized Clothing

This is a trend that I will follow because it is something that I like. Not only is it very comfortable, but it can be very stylish. If done wrong you can look a mess. But does it actually matter? NO! That’s why I rather just wear something baggy, some comfortable shoes and go. The first picture in the set will be me all summer. Also your whole outfit doesn’t have to be baggy. You can still wear your skinny jeans just wear a baggy t-shirt and some vans. BAM! Now you’re Stylish, on trend, while still using things in your own closet. This outfit is unisex because literally everybody owns a pair of jeans and an oversized shirt.

2. Sheer Clothing

This is another trend that I can fully get behind. Last summer was when I started wearing more sheer t-shirts. There is something about a sheer shirt that adds a little edge to your outfit. I fully recommend everyone to try this out at least once. If you cannot afford designer options for sheer shirts, go to your local thrift shop. You might find some there. If you’re scared about buying something from a different genders section DON’T BE!! It’s 2019 break some gender roles.

3. Patterned/Textured Clothing

I also support this trend because it adds a twist to your outfit. You can either go full top to bottom in a matching pattern and have that be your look. Or you can be even more bold by mixing and matching prints and textures. Or have just a statement pant or shirt and wear everything else simple to really make the piece stand out.

4. Light wash Blue Jeans

For me a pair of light wash blue jeans just scream summer. So this is a reason that I support this. Plus, you can never go wrong with a pair of blue jeans, or jean shirt at that. Something of light wash in your closet should be a staple in your closet. It is a very versatile piece that can be dressed up or down.

Trends I will not follow:

1. Bright colors

Personally, I am not a fan of bright colors. This is the reason that I am not a fan of this trend. I am more attracted and tend to be a fan of darker colors. I especially don’t like neon colors as I would stand out more than I would like.

2. Monochromatic Outfits

Again, I don’t support this trend because of personal taste. I, personally, think that wearing one color of everything would be to overwhelming for the eye. Not only that but if you are on a budget, it is hard to find cheap outfits like these. Trying to buy separates and match it can be very difficult because the shades could be off by a little and that could be disappointing for you. That’s another reason I don’t like this. I see what they try to do, but personally no.

Hopefully you liked my choice and trends and follow some of the tips that I gave to help you try the trend out for yourself. Let me know what you think. 🙂
