What can I say WOW! I started watching the first season on Netflix and it left me wanting more! This show has everything you’d want in a great tv show; a strong female lead, drama, suspense, current events, and a diverse cast.
Although, I have only seen one season I highly recommended this show to anyone in search of a new show to binge watch. Once you start watching you are hooked! There is a second season and it is currently airing on The CW on Fridays.

Synopsis
This show is about a family who has many troubles as any family would, but it is intensified by 100 because they aren’t just any family; they run a very important energy company. The main character Fallon Carrington is hopefully that she will follow in her fathers footsteps and will become the new C.O.O.What she doesn’t expect is her fathers surprise marriage with Cristal Flores, who then becomes a Carrington. This starts a rivalry between both of them. Tearing each other down any moment they get. The marriage is not the only thing that fuels the fire to this rivalry. Each character adds something to the drama that stirs between these two. Especially when her Father Blake Carrington give Fallon’s dream job to his new wife. Fallon then goes on to try to make her own mark by starting a company with her fathers rival Jeff Colby. This not only start problems with her dad, but also with her driver, Michael Culhane. Which becomes a sorta love triangle because Fallon is sleeping with him and then gets a interest in Colby as well, which becomes interesting to say the least as the end of the season comes. Stuff gets more complicated when the estranged son Steven Carrington shows up. His homecoming comes with a special guest Sammy Jo, who also so happens to be Cristal’s nephew. Top this all off with a butler, Anders, who knows it all and has been with family since Blake’s fathers reign you get a man who knows all the families secrets. I will stop here with my synopsis because I don’t wanna give to much information away watch it! You won’t regret it!
Reasons to watch
The DRAMA! This is one of the reasons that I got hooked on this show. You will be gagged each episode because of what is going on in the show. After episode one things get crazier and crazier. From Murders to Cover ups, From Family Drama to Love Affairs; this show has something that people would want to watch and keep them hooked.
However, drama isn’t the only reason you should watch it. In an era where man is the lead this show takes a different turn and has the men be supporting characters, while the main character is a strong, independent, visionary woman. She does not abide by any mans rules and makes her own rules if she wants. She is a woman who knows what she wants and literally stops at nothing to get what she wants even if it hurts her own family.
Furthermore, the cast is diverse as well. The characters of Sammy Jo and Cristal Carrington are said to from Latin America descending from Venezuela to be exact. There is also African American representation as well, as the characters of Michael Culhane, Jeff and Monica Colby are African American. Moreover, they also represent the LGBTQ+ community by making Steven Carrington and Sammy Jo gay. They do this in a tasteful way as making them be accepted and loved by their family and not the usually way where they are closeted and shunned for being gay.
Overall I think that this is a show everyone needs to watch and I’m hoping it has a great and long run.
