Monetizing Hobbies

In the modern day of social media there is an immense spotlight on being successful or getting there. From videos on how to find side hustles to those videos being the side hustle; we are in an age where everything is monetized. I do not like that.

I am sorry I am someone who like to embroider and have been told when posting pieces on my story “you should sell this !” While I reply thanks, I always just say lol no>”I would not want to monetize my hobby, personally, because I think that I would end up disliking said hobby. While I applaud and think those that do that are cool, I just could never see myself doing that while as tempting as it may seem.

Moreover, not only the money part, but the way I work on things like embroidery, I am a perfectionist to a fault and I also tend to start and stop projects which; when customers are involved would run me out of business lol. I do think people should monitzing things they; even to do and can, however, things can be done just for the sake of fun and enjoyment. I think people sometimes forget that about doing things. People always want something more, when the simplicity of doing said thing should be gratifying enough, if that makes sense. Lol

So start a podcast FOR FUN, not to go viral. Start a blog for writing, not to try and become the next big thing. Start making tik toks or YouTube’s for fun with friends. Just do it for fun and if it happens, it happens. but it is always fun to try different things.

Let me know what some of your favorite hobbies are in the comments! I always love trying new activities out! Mine is running and you should check out this post where I talk about starting to run :). How to Start Running
