My skin like everyone’s isn’t always perfect, there are some times where it is impeccable and then most of the time I usually have like a baby pimple (the universe trying to humble me.) So I’m always in search of things that’ll help. I already knew that using this mask was good for you, and I owned my own tub of this stuff but never really used it because of issues I had with it. But then I was on YouTube and this girls video of her doing the Aztec Clay Mask challenge.
For context, the “challenge” is using the clay mask for 7 days in a row, then 3 days the next week, then 2 days the week after, then either once or twice a week following after. I decided to try it out for myself. When doing this I took pictures in the mornings and then after the face mask. (I don’t have pictures for the first two days because I wasn’t really sure if I wanted to go through with it, until the third day; that’s when I have pictures of my skin in different angles.)
[(sidenote:I don’t know why it’s called a challenge, to be honest, my friend Michelle also asked why its called a challenge and that was the first time question it lol)]
Disclaimers

Let’s not waste anyone’s time: if you don’t like making a big mess I’d suggest either not doing this or if you do make a very small amount. There were times were I made too much and just put it all in my face… cleaning that off took forever, especially because I didn’t wanna clog my drain by just letting clay run down the drain; so I’d rub my face until all the clay left.
Furthermore, there were times I’d rub my face and wet clay fell on my sink and then I’d have to clean all my sink because it just leaves the sink and bathroom smelling like apple cider vinegar. Moreover, if you don’t like the smell of Apple cider vinegar I’d suggest again maybe not doing this, while you can use water as an alternative; it’s usually suggested to use Apple cider vinegar for better results.
ALSO: I will be posting selfies beyond this point. Enjoy 😉
Day 1: Tuesday, 11/03/2020

Ok, so this was the first day in the morning before I started. I did have have a couple of pimples on my cheeks but you can’t really see them when I take pictures head on like this. But you can clearly see the pimple in between my eyebrows. I didn’t take a picture after the face mask because I didn’t think I was gonna do this 7 day treatment.
Day 2: Wednesday 11/04/2020

This was the second day in the morning. Nothing really changed. I don’t have pictures for after the face mask application because again, I didn’t think I was gonna continue this. That’s also why I don’t have better pictures of my skin with my side profile either. Lol
Day 3: Thursday, 11/05/2020

Ok, so this is only after the face mask application, not the morning after. (I was in a rush to work and forgot to take a selfie that day.) NOW, this is when I was like wait… I can actually continue and do this little challenge and I took better pictures. [This was the first time I ever used portrait mode on my camera.] Anyways, as you can see I did have acne on my cheeks and when you see me from the front you can’t see them. I did get like two new small pimples on my cheek, but the pimple in between my eyebrows was gone so yay.
Day 4, Friday, 11/06/2020

These pictures are from the morning before any treatment. They are also the only pictures of this day. I did do the treatment that night but I was so tired from work I just fell asleep. But as you can see the pimples I had got somewhat smaller. Another thing I noticed that my skin was super soft. So was the little facial hair I had.
Day 5: Saturday, 11/07/2020

So these are at night, I was in a rush again for work and forgot to take selfie’s in the morning. But as you can see nothing really changed.
Day 6: Sunday, 11/08/2020

So this is the only day I have both morning and night pictures. As you can see by the pictures, the pimples have gone down by size significantly and don’t look super red anymore. (Also my tattoo says hi.)
Day 7: Monday, 11/09/2020

This is the final day but at night. You can tell that my pimples on my right cheek have gone done and the ones on the right are smaller. Overall, the acne I did have reduced significantly in one week.
Thoughts and Conclusion
Overall, I can’t really say if this was a success or a failure. Even though it is called a challenge, there is no specific result that is awaited at the end. You just do it and see what your result is because everyone has different skin and everybody reacts differently to products. While I did see some minor improvements, I probably won’t see any more major results until the future.
According to STYLECASTER, “Generally speaking, it takes about 28 days for skin cells to turn over, which means that almost all products require at least one month of use before you’ll see results.” So although I did see minor improvements, if it did anything good for my skin in the long run, I’m still going to have to wait and see if it was useful. And still use it; but sparingly throughout the weeks. (Also check that post out about how long skin products take, some take longer than others, check it out for help.) Furthermore, what you use on your face isn’t the only thing that affects your skin, it’s also the food. So a face mask treatment won’t help solve all your skin problems.

In the end my skin did have some minor improvements. The treatment helped make the acne I had smaller and left my skin soft and my facial hair as-well.
Hopefully someone liked this and/or found it helpful. Try it out and see if it helps! I will try and do an update post a month after this one too see if there was a change from using this for a whole week and then a couple times throughout the weeks.
