It is September 1st, which officially/unofficially means that summer is practically over. Even though we are still in a pandemic, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t care about how you dress. People can’t see your face now, so if you wanna stand out, you need to let your clothes do the talking. Here are the best trends from the runways, that you can try to incorporate into your wardrobe.
Black Overcoat

I believe this is a timeless piece any man or woman should own. Wherever it be leather, pleather, suede, etc; it literally goes with any outfit and color variation because it is black. You could obviously wear a full suit under this or even just some ripped jeans and a t-shirt and you will still look put together. A great timeless piece like this can pull an outfit together.
Plaid Paradise

This, in my opinion is another great timeless trend for autumn! Nothing is comfier and cozier (well maybe fur…) This is also a great trend because you can try it out without breaking the bank. Their is a plethora of plaid pieces you can pull: from scarfs and hats to pants and shirts. You can try this trend out in a full look or just a pop. There is a plaid object FOR YOU no matter the amount of money you have. Also plaid gives you a little extra (✨✨ ya know?)
The Brown Look

Throughout the collection there were monochrome looks in black, but it’s black. Now brown… THATS A COLOR ! I feel like it’s so underrated. This is a great color for the fall because obvi, the leaves and whatnot. But also because it’s such a warm color. Wearing a warm color like brown during cold days, subconsciously, may make you warmer(? Idk I’m not a psychologist lol.) Nevertheless, justice for browns.
Puffy

This is another staple with various iterations shown throughout collections. This is a great jacket from my experience. Not the jackets shown, but a puffer jacket and it’s comfy and warm. Don’t let the shape scare you into thinking you won’t look good in it, you will! (Speaking from experience lol, ALSO mine is plaid lol getting two trends with one stone.)
Fur

Fur in winter? Groundbreaking. It keeps you warm and you look boojie and turn looks, das it. Also a good fur coat can actually save you money on sweaters and other things like that because it’ll keep you warm enough you just have to wear the coat. (Again, speaking from experience. I have a big black fur coat I got at the thrift for $9 [I swear it’s bullet proof, it’s so heavy and warm.] 10/10 recommend everyone going to the thrift to find cute faux furs or even pre-used furs.)
Bold and Here

Now, like mentioned before, our faces are covered; so a way to make yourself be heard was to make your clothes talk. What better way to wear bold prints and designs. Either a flame fur coat, a spiked bomber, a sequined overcoat, or any/everything in between. This is a great time to experiment with clothes and layering since it is getting chiller and it’s a great way to stay warm. Furthermore, if you’re scared of what people might think of you, DON’T! They can’t even see your face!!!
I think that this years Autumn and Winter should be a time where you have more fun with your wardrobe. Yes, get staples like the black overcoat or a puffer jacket, so you can look classically chic. But also go out of the box and get a bold printed scarf, or a brightly colored fur.
In times of stress like the world is going through, I feel like individually we can make ourselves feel better and one way to do that is by switching up your clothes. Dip your feet into both waters. You can do both on a budget also! Go thrifting! You can definitely find these styles. While you may have to do a bit of altering, unless your super lucky; but then it’ll fit you perfectly.
Are you gonna try any of the trends?

ALSO, shoutout to these designers and having more models of color on the runway. So happy to see more Black, Brown and Asians parading around the catwalk.
